It is good and scary.

An instant classic! Robert Englund should've earned an Emmy or a Golden Globe for this.

I think that Nightmare On Elm Street is one of the best scary movies of all time. It still gets me scared and I jump out of my skin every time I watch it.

Again another one of my four favourite horror films, A Nightmare On Elm Street is excellent. Johnny Depp was in this film (his first role) playing the main character's unfortunate boyfriend, who died when he is sucked into his bed about 3/4 of a way through the film. I advise the fans of this film to buy the box set of all 7 films (excluding Freddy Vs Jason-which is itself ok). Freddy Kruger gets even funnier as the films get funnier. Nightmare part II was about the worst one (along with part 5) but all of the films have their own element of genre. Nightmare 1 is fab, part 2 is s**t in ways, part 3 is clever, funny and gory, part 4 is also clever and very funny (note the kung fu scene between Rick and Freddy), part 5 is a bit inventive but on the other hand c**p, part 6 is funny and gory and part 7 is clever and realistic. Another must see for fans of the genre.

Wes Carven is the best! I wish there were more Nightmare movies to add to my collection. Freddy Kruger just keeps getting even funnier as the movies go on. When I saw the first Nightmare movie i couldn't sleep for days. Then when I saw the other I never wanted to sleep. Freddy, Freddy, Freddy. What more can i say. Everyone MUST see all the movies staring Freddy Kruger. If you don't your completely crazy not to know and love one of the best killers who stalk children and teens in their dreams.

This movie was not only scary, but really really weird. It was also great. I don't advise watching the sequels because horror movie sequels don't usually go well.. Except George Romero. He's good at it.

I love this movie. It was very scary and I was really scared. I love Heather, she's one of my favourite actress. She enacted so good. And Freddy- woah, I'm team Krueger. Really, he's the best baddy.

In my opinion A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2 Freddys Revenge is the best in the series. The makeup and voice was the best, and to me it just stood out from the rest.

I love Nightmare on Elm Street. I have been watching Nightmare on Elm Street my whole life, even when I was a baby. NO JOKE. I swear on my life. But anyway I love the 1st movie. The orginal is always the best, well sometimes. The worst movie out of all the 9 movies is Freddy's Revenge. Heather is my favorite actress, and I love Robert England. But the only bad thing in part 4 Dream Master is when kincaid and kristen died. Also the freaking part is Kristen Parker is my name. She is so awesome I love her, she rocked at being an actress.

This is by far the one of not only the best, but most original and psychologically scariest horror movie to have ever come out. Nightmare on elm street came out in I believe in 1984, and it still makes me jump out of my seat. Wes Craven was genius for with this idea and creating the character Freddy Kruger. As well getting an actress like Heather Langenkamp to play a heroin such as Nancy. She wasn't your typical heroin that trips a falls down and was such the damsel in distress. She could kick ass when she had too. And Neve Campbell playing Sydney Prescott in Scream was the up graded version of Nancy to me. By the way Nightmare on elm street had some very successful sequels as well such as Nightmare 3, 4, 5, and 7 The New Nightmare. Those were the best to me.

Nightmare 1. I watched this film as a kid in 1989/1990 I was 10/11, and it gave me nightmares for two nights straight. I had to go to sleep listening to my transformers cassette stories on my Walkman. I was so scared to go to sleep! And my bedroom was right next to the main door! We lived in a block of flats at the very top. I'm a huge fan of all the films, but 1 is burned to my memory. I so wanted the remake to be good- sigh-.
